What is Healthy Cubs?
Healthy Cubs is a health access program that provides temporary
free outpatient health care to un-insured children ages 0 to 5
and prenatal care to pregnant women who reside in Stanislaus County
who are at or below 300 % of Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Why is Healthy Cubs temporary?
Because Healthy Cubs is NOT an insurance. Benefits are limited,
and patients or their parents/guardians will be expected to complete
an application for Medi-Cal, Healthy Families or Kaiser Permanente
Child Health Care Plan. Healthy Cubs staff will contact you on
a regular basis to verify compliance. You must report any changes
(address, phone, new insurance).

What if I was denied Medi-Cal/Healthy
Families in the past?
Submit a copy of the denial letter to the Healthy Cubs program.
This information will be used to determine what other programs
you may qualify for.

Where can I go for services?
If your application is approved, you will receive a list of contracted
providers.
Top
What services are NOT covered?
Hospital, emergency-room, vision and non-contracted Healthy Cubs
providers.

Does immigration status matter?
No. A Social Security or Medi-Cal ID number is requested but
not required on the application.
Top
How long will it take to receive a reply
from Healthy Cubs?
The application process can take up to 7 days.
Top
I already have Medi-Cal, do I still qualify
for Healthy Cubs?
Only if benefits are Restricted, Emergency or Confidential.
