Adolescent Family Life Program/Cal Learn [AFLP]

Who We Are

The Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) and Cal-Learn Program are home-visiting programs for pregnant and parenting teens. Through this program, we provide comprehensive case management services to youth and their children and address adolescent pregnancy's social, health, educational, and economic consequences.

AFLP is a voluntary program for pregnant and parenting youth in the community. The AFLP emphasizes promoting positive youth development, focusing on and building upon the adolescents' strengths and resources. Youths 21 years and younger are eligible to enroll.

Cal-Learn is a mandatory program for teens who participate in the CalWORKs Program and have yet to graduate from High School or the equivalent.

Our goal is to

  • Increase social and emotional support and build resiliency
  • Improve pregnancy planning and spacing
  • Increase education attainment and employability
  • Increase access to needed services
