Indigent Health Care Program
The Stanislaus County Indigent Health Care Program (IHCP) provides limited health coverage for low-income adult residents of Stanislaus County who are not eligible for other public or private health insurance programs, such as Medi-Cal or Covered California.
Who May Qualify
- Be 21 to 65 years old
- Able to verify residency in Stanislaus County
- Have no other health coverage, including Medi-Cal or other comprehensive plans (Note: Choosing not to apply for other available programs does not meet eligibility for IHCP)
- Meet the program’s income, asset, and eligibility criteria
- Be a U.S. citizen or a Federally Qualified Alien (Sponsored non-citizens must submit Affidavits of Support (Form I-864 or I-134) and provide the sponsor’s income and property details)
- If you are unable to work for 12 months or longer due to a medical condition, you must show proof that you have applied for Medi-Cal Disability and Social Security Disability (SSA/SSI)
Health Services Provided
Primary care services are delivered at Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) clinics by HSA-employed physicians and licensed health care professionals.
