MEDICAL MARIJUANA IDENTIFICATION CARD (MMIC) PROGRAM

Who We Are

The Health Services Agency - Public Health Division assists qualified Stanislaus County residents with processing applications for State of California Medical Marijuana Identification Cards (MMIC).

The California Department of Public Health's MMIC Program was established to create a state-authorized card along with a registry to verify qualified patients or their designated primary caregivers. Participation in this program is voluntary.


What We Do

MMIC Program staff meet BY IN-PERSON APPOINTMENT with qualified patients and their approved primary caregivers to determine eligibility and process applications.

  • Appointments are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to4:00 pm
    • Call 209-558-7191 to make an appointment.
    • Staff are available to answer questions or schedule appointments during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

You MUST bring the following items with you to your scheduled appointment:

  • Completed MMIC application
  • Proof that you live in Stanislaus County
  • A valid government-issued photo identification
  • A valid recommendation by a California licensed physician
  • Medi-Cal card, if you are a beneficiary
  • MMIC fee
    • Nonrefundable fee: $100 ($50.00 with Medi-Cal coverage) due at time of appointment. Fees can be paid by cash or credit/debit cards
    • Checks are not accepted by the program.
