Communicable Disease Control Program (CD)
The Communicable Disease team is committed to surveying the activities of communicable diseases to monitor, protect, and prevent the spread of infectious diseases (excluding TB, STD, and HIV) within Stanislaus County.
The CD Program provides:
- Surveillance and case investigation of all communicable diseases reportable under Title 17
- Disease Outbreak response and management
- Contact Identification and follow-up
- Coordination for prophylaxis, vaccinations, and testing for communicable disease

Communicable disease reporting via CalREDIE (California Reportable Disease Information Exchange)
Physicians and health care providers are legally required by Title 17 of the California Code of Regulations to report suspected, lab-confirmed, and clinical diagnoses of specific diseases and conditions within specified time frames to the person's county of residence.
- As of March 13, 2021, Confidential Morbidity Reports faxed to Stanislaus County Public Health will no longer be accepted. Accepted reports must be completed using the electronic CalREDIE reporting system.

- Keep list of reportable disease and how to report.
- Animal bite reports should be faxed within 24 hours to the County Department of Animal Services at (209) 558-2145 or email to SASAFieldServices@stancounty.com
- Pesticide-related illness should be submitted to the CD team at (209) 558-5678, fax: 558-7531 using this Pesticide-Related Illness form.
